After you receive an acceptance letter, you must complete several requirements before your first day on campus. Learn about needed immunizations and background checks, housing and more.
After gaining admission to the School of Nursing, admitted students will be required to complete the following items prior to enrolling in classes. This is not an exhaustive list; other trainings, documents, or requirements may be necessary once you are admitted.
These steps are NOT to be completed prior to applying or hearing an admissions decision. Admitted students are given thorough instructions and plenty of time to complete these steps before enrolling in classes.
Following Nursing Program Conditional Acceptance
- Pay the $500.00 Pre-Matriculation Seat Deposit
- If the admitted student begins the program, $250 will be refunded to the student. The additional $250 is a School of Nursing processing fee and is non-refundable. If the admitted student does not begin the nursing program, the full $500 is non-refundable.
Criminal background check
Admitted students will undergo a criminal background check through the Texas Department of Public Safety and the FBI. Results of the background check are then sent to the who will inform students of the result of the background check.
Immunizations
Admitted students must have their health provider confirm they have received appropriate immunizations before enrolling in classes at º£½ÇÂ×ÂÒ. Nursing students are required to maintain immunizations throughout the duration of the program.
During the matriculation process, admitted students will receive an email to create a Sentry MD account. You may upload your immunization records to the . Processing can take one to two business days.

Student health insurance
The UT Board of Regents requires students at º£½ÇÂ×ÂÒ to maintain a valid major medical insurance policy throughout the duration of the program. Admitted students who do not already have insurance may enroll in student health insurance through the .
CPR certification
Admitted students are required to obtain CPR certification through the prior to enrolling in classes. CPR certification through other agencies is not accepted.
Official Transcripts
Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended should be sent to the Registrar's Office at º£½ÇÂ×ÂÒ.
For Accelerated BSN Applicants only, official transcript listing must show completion of non-nursing baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
RN licensure (Graduate programs only)
All graduate students for the School of Nursing must attain RN Licensure through the prior to starting the program.
