Pediatric Dentistry Certificate with Master’s Option
Part of the Department of Developmental Dentistry
The Pediatric Dentistry program offers the advanced student a balanced curriculum in both didactic and clinical areas to earn a master’s degree in either dental science or public health.
These programs provide the resident valuable opportunities for research. Students will expand their knowledge in basic science relevant to dentistry and public health, as well as gain a strong understanding of research methodology. The programs require trainees to complete a thesis based on an investigative project.
We have two options. You must select a track before you begin coursework:
- Option 1: The Master of Science in Dental Science will take 30 months to complete. The program is an integrated curriculum with the Pediatric Dentistry Certificate program.
- Option 2: The Master of Public Health program requires a minimum of 30 months. It is supported by a HRSA grant to assist in developing School of Dentistry faculty and residents.
Students will complete their coursework for a master’s degree in dental science through the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at º£½ÇÂ×ÂÒ or a master’s degree in public health through the University of Texas Houston Branch at the San Antonio campus.
