, Diplomate of the and tenured Associate Professor and Clinic Director for Graduate Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology at the �������� School of Dentistry, was recently appointed by the to serve as a Commissioner on the 2024-2025 . Members of the Boards are selected in accordance with the Rules of the National Commission and the Constitution and Bylaws of the . 

The National Commission serves both the public and the dental profession by providing a transparent and objective review of recognized specialty sponsoring organizations, prospective specialty sponsoring organizations, their respective certifying boards and their adherence to the Requirements for Recognition of Dental Specialties and National Certifying Boards for Dental Specialists.

Katkar completed her advanced training with a Master’s degree in Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2011. Before joining �������� in 2015, she worked at the University of Florida College of Dentistry as the Division Director of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology. In her current role, Katkar is involved in predoctoral and postdoctoral education and has had numerous presentations at national and international conferences and publications in peer-reviewed journals and books. She has served as Secretary, Vice-Chair and Chair of the OMR section at the , as Chair of the Research & Technology Committee of the and as Councilor of Communications on the Executive Council of the .
